Restocon Corporation was retained by Willis A. Smith Construction, Inc., of Sarasota Florida to perform the exterior repair and restoration on this structure. The building was completed in 1927 and housed the high school until 1996 and has been vacant since. The Structure is now being converted to a museum for the Ringling College of Art and Design and is scheduled to reopen late 2018 or early 2019.
The work included total repointing of the brick, stone and terra cotta surfaces as well as fabrication of architectural features that had been damaged by weather or lightning strikes. terra surfaces had been damaged by vandals as well and graffiti covered many areas at the main entrance. Restocon completely repaired and restored all the damaged areas in structure and appearance.
